You will see the mountains for days rather than minutes, meet Sherpa families and sleep in villages the helicopter flies over. For many people it is the better experience.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"a-mountain-flight-by-plane\"><\/span>A mountain flight by plane<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Airlines in Kathmandu run early-morning sightseeing flights along the Himalaya that pass close to Everest. They cost a fraction of a helicopter tour and take about an hour. You don&#8217;t land, and you share the plane with many others, but you do see the peaks.
