The idea of taking a helicopter from Tengboche to Kathmandu sounded a little extravagant, but I’m so glad we did. The weather cooperated beautifully—clear skies and crisp mountain air allowed unimpeded views of the Everest region from above. The helicopter felt stable, though we were flying high over rugged terrain, and I felt completely secure.
