Route: Pokhara→Mardi Himal
It is one of the quickest high-mountain flights from Pokhara. On the way the helicopter passes over rhododendron forest and grassy ridges before landing close to the face of Machhapuchhre.
At 4,500 m (14,764 ft), there is only about half to 60 percent of the oxygen available at sea level. Ground time on helicopter tours is limited to a few minutes, and helicopters carry fewer passengers per flight at this height because thin air reduces lift.
Helicopters fly all year when the weather allows. The clearest months are October–May. In the June–August monsoon, early morning is usually the only clear window.
