Annapurna & Mustang · Lake
One of the highest lakes of its size in the world, below Tilicho Peak.
Reaching Tilicho on foot takes several days on the Annapurna Circuit. A helicopter tour shows the lake, Tilicho Peak and the Annapurna range in a single morning.
At 4,919 m (16,138 ft), there is only about half to 60 percent of the oxygen available at sea level. Ground time on helicopter tours is limited to a few minutes, and helicopters carry fewer passengers per flight at this height because thin air reduces lift.
Helicopters fly all year when the weather allows. The clearest months are March–May and September–November. In the June–August monsoon, early morning is usually the only clear window.

The clearest flying months are March–May and September–November. Morning flights have the best chance of clear views, because cloud usually builds by midday.
Trips that include Tilicho Lake start from USD 3,800 per charter. Shared seats cost less for one or two travellers; a private charter is often better value for a group.
