At 4,730 m (15,518 ft), there is only about half to 60 percent of the oxygen available at sea level. Ground time on helicopter tours is limited to a few minutes, and helicopters carry fewer passengers per flight at this height because thin air reduces lift.
Helicopters fly all year when the weather allows. The clearest months are March–May and September–December. In the June–August monsoon, early morning is usually the only clear window.
